Christopher Lee – Connell School of Nursing – Boston College

Cardiovascular nurse scientist Christopher Lee, Ph.D., RN, FAHA, FAAN, FHFSA, is a Professor and the Associate Dean for Research at the Connell School of Nursing. Dr. Lee has dedicated his career to better understanding heart disease, improving long term outcomes for patients and their families. His research has been support by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Office of Research on Womens Health and the American Heart Association (AHA). Dr. Lees work has earned him multiple awards from the AHA, Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA), and the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research.

Prior to Boston College, Dr. Lee a Scituate, Massachusetts, native spent seven years at Oregon Health & Science University, where he was named the Carol A. Lindeman Distinguished Professor. In addition to his own research, Dr. Lee is dedicated to national advocacy initiatives and the advancement of emerging scientists. As part of the HFSAs advocacy committee, Dr. Lee led efforts to create a joint position statement with the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses advocating for nurses to be fully engaged as part of the patient care team as well as take on leadership roles in organizations where health policy decisions are made. Dr. Lee also prides himself of mentoring, and has been successful in helping multiple colleagues secures National Research Service Awards (F31), Careers Development Grants (Ks) and large Research Project Grants (R01s).
