Lake Charles man accused of choking pregnant woman in front of child – KATC Lafayette News

A Lake Charles man was accused of choking a pregnant woman until she passed out Sunday.

Christopher Lee, 28, was arrested after police talked to a 27-year-old pregnant woman at his home. She was dizzy and faint. and told officers that Lee hit her in the face with a pair of pliers, then choked her until she passed out. Officers found evidence to confirm the incident, and also learned that there was small child present when the incident happened, a Lake Charles Police spokesman said.

Lee fled the home before officers arrived, the spokesman said. The victim was taken to a hospital.

About two hours later, police found Lee back in the home, hiding in a bedroom, the spokesman said.

Lee was booked with seconddegree battery, domestic abuse of a pregnant woman, domestic abuse by strangulation and domestic abuse/child endangerment.

Lee is being held without bond at this time.
