Step into The Void in first teaser for John Carpenter-esque horror movie – Blastr

"There is a hell. This is worse." A first nightmarish teaser trailer for upcoming horror movie The Void has emerged.

The hellish tale hails from the Fathers Day directing duo of Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski, who wrote and directed the film. The Void stars Aaron Poole, Kathleen Munroe, Ellen Wong, Kenneth Walsh, Evan Stern, Daniel Fathers and Grace Munro, with a couple of The Witch producers attached to, well, produce the movie.

So whats the movie about?

As you can see in the teaser below, the creature feature (which features very cool practical VFX) looks like it will be borrowing elements from John Carpenter's classic horror film The Thing (loooove that movie) mixed in with a dash of David Cronenberg's The Fly whilst delivering some Lovecraftian horror chills. That sounds like an awesome combination, don't you think? Read up on the official synopsis before sinking your claws into the (a tiny bit NSFW) teaser trailer below.

When police officer Carter (Aaron Poole) discovers a blood-soaked man limping down a deserted road, he rushes him to a local hospital with a bare-bones night shift staff. As cloaked, cult-like figures surround the building, the patients and staff start to turn ravenously insane. Trying to protect the survivors, Carter leads them into the depths of the hospital, where they discover a gateway to immense evil.

The Void will open in movie theaters and be released on VOD on April 7. Will this be a must-see for you?
