Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

From our Review: No one should play Uncharted: The Lost Legacy without first playing the rest of Naughty Dogs epic adventure series. A side effect of that, however, is that no one who plays The Lost Legacy will experience much they havent seen before. This standalone adventure, set after the events of Uncharted 4, is packed with the beautiful vistas, exciting action, and memorable characters we expect from an Uncharted game, but the familiarity of it all made Lost Legacy feel more like a by-the-numbers summer blockbuster than the milestone events that came before it.

Thimbleweed Park PS4 Version

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Thimbleweed Park is the curious story of two washed up detectives called in to investigate a dead body found in the river just outside of town. Lost along a dusty stretch of highway, Thimbleweed Park once boasted an opulent hotel, a vibrant business district, and the state's largest pillow factory. Now it teeters on the edge of oblivion, stinking of a desperate longing to be what it once was. When a dead body turns up in the river, the federal agents sent to investigate are immediately suspicious of each other. Then a cursed clown, a jaded heiress, and the ghost of a pillow salesman get mixed up in the case and things start to get really weird.

Minecraft: Story Mode The Complete Adventure (Nintendo Switch Version)

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

From our Review: Unexpectedly inspired by the blocky world-building phenomenon, Minecraft: Story Mode is an adventure game that tells a singular story inside the ever-expanding world of Minecraft. While developer Telltale Games is known for its dark and horrific titles like The Walking Dead and A Wolf Among Us, Minecraft: Story Mode is a lighthearted adventure that employs the voice talents of top comedians in a story that takes you from the Overworld to the Nether, and everywhere in between. This being a game inspired by Minecraft, players naturally can expect to build something in the game, but instead of building shelters and castles and statues in tribute to cartoon heroes, here you build story -- your choices in the game change the direction of the story, allowing players to create their own adventure through the complete season of Story Mode episodes.

The Escapists 2 PS4 Version

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Gather your escape team for the strategic action game The Escapists 2! In a first for the series, The Escapists 2 offers drop-in/drop-out play offering both split screen and online play for up to four players in both co-op and versus modes! A completely revamped combat system featuring new lock-on targeting and blocking systems (plus light and heavy attacks,) while improved crafting features let you design your own tools for escaping. Tie together knotted sheets and use them to climb down high windows, create a homemade taser to knock out guards, and use whatever else you find as elements in your escape from the new new multi-level prisons.

The Walking Dead: The Complete Seventh Season

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

From our Review: The Walking Dead stormed into Season 7 with one of the most anticipated premieres of its run, thanks in large part to some summertime-long speculation about which character would fall to Negan's barbed wire bat. It wrapped up, however, with the lowest rated season finale since Season 2.

So what gives?

Ash vs. Evil Dead: Season 2

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

From our Review: Though not without a few stumbles, Ash vs Evil Dead's second season was a definite improvement over its freshman year run. Not that Season 1 wasn't fun and ferocious gooey gory goodness, but it didn't quite have a handle on Ash, as a character, like Season 2 did.

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

Release Date: Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Remade for a new generation of gaming devices in order to bring the original terror to players in a whole new way, White Day is a first-person horror adventure game set in a school.

Madden NFL 18

Release Date: Friday, August 25, 2017

From our Review in Progress: Ask Tom Brady and Matt Ryan what they think about halftime adjustments. Those adjustments, major or minor, are the key to winning any football game and thats exactly the kind of change Madden NFL 18 has made to EAs series. Madden is coming out of the locker room with more than an adjustment to its gameplay and story mode; the development team just stormed back onto the field with a new engine, improved gameplay, and a story mode finally worth giving a damn about.
