‘The Walking Dead’ will finally cross over with ‘Fear,’ says …

Ever since The Walking Dead got its spinoff (aka prequel) series, Fear the Walking Dead, fans and reporters alike have been badgering the producers behind the two shows about the possibility of a crossover and apparently said badgering has finally paid off.

"There are two Walking Dead shows, I'm not gonna name them... There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name... and appear in the other show, which I will not name," series creator Robert Kirkman revealed at the show's New York Comic Con panel. "So what does that mean, because these timelines, how does that work? Are we going to see an interesting backstory of a Walking Dead character showing up in Fear the Walking Dead, or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead, and see a future version of a character? What's gonna happen? Is it going to be something completely different than that? Who knows?"

On a more serious note, Kirkman added, "This is a huge event in the world of The Walking Dead, were very excited about this; theres going to be more news on this front in the coming months, so please stay tuned to what they call 'the internet.' Its gonna be huge, were all very excited."

But before we can get to the crossover, we have to rejoin Rick Grimes and his gang in the midst of "All Out War," the comic book storyline that serves as inspiration for Season 8, which sees the inhabitants of Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom going up against Negan and his saviors.

"Season 7 sucked for Rick Grimes, but Season 8, hes definitely getting his strut back," Andrew Lincoln previewed. "Its been so much fun. Its been hard because every episode has been so big and it moves so quickly, the story, but weve got the gang back together Its reminiscent of Seasons 1-4."

Even better? We might finally see the heroes get a win, after a season of complete misery.

"It's taken 100 episodes for Rick to come up with a good plan," Lincoln said, "and this is it."

Negan certainly put Rick through the wringer in Season 7, but it was Norman Reedus' Daryl who took the brunt of the villain's torture. Naturally, then, Reedus says his character is out for blood this year.

"The bands back together and this season is two big teams against each other," Reedus teased. "But hes going a bit rogue at times and he wants revenge."

After a season of being Negan's punching bag, it's about time.

The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres Oct. 22 on AMC.
