‘If We Were Vampires’: Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit Debut Music Video – Wide Open Country

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have released a poignant music video for their poignant new song If We Were Vampires.

The fifth track on Isbells TheNashville Sound album, If We Were Vampires delves intothe dark side of every love story its end. The lyrics tackle the inevitability of death, and the fear of one day having to live without the one you love.

Its knowing that this cant go on forever/Likely one of us will have to spend some days alone/Maybe well get forty years together/But one day Ill be gone/Or one day youll be gone.

The videouses animation to achieve an ethereal effect that does a good job matching the somewhat mournful, yearningtone of the song.

Isbell releasedThe Nashville Sound in June of this year and despite its name, its unlike most everything else coming out of Nashville these days. If We Were Vampires is the second music video to be released from the album, after Hope the High Road.
