‘Star Trek Beyond’ Writers Penning ‘A People’s History of the … – Bloody Disgusting

It hasnt even been released yet, but 20th Century Fox is already adapting thefirst of four books in Raymond A. VillarealsA Peoples History of the Vampire Uprisingseries. We first learned about the adaptation this past February, and today brings an update.

Tracking Board reports that Star Trek Beyond scribes Patrick McKay and John D. Payne have been hired to write the adaptation for 21 Laps Entertainment and 20th Century Fox.

The novel has been described as World War Z with vampires.

A Peoples History of the Vampire Uprisingis an oral history of the appearance, assimilation, and ultimately epic and violent confrontation of vampires with the human race. It chronicles the rise of the vampires, who call themselves The Gloaming, from multiple points of view: the CDC investigator who discovers a mysterious virus; the FBI agent who forms the first Gloaming Crimes Unit; a civil rights attorneys analysis of the Gloaming Equal Rights Act; an obsessive Vatican librarian; and even TMZ.

Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Mike Ireland are producing.

The book will be released Summer 2018.
