ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Would you know what to do if there was a zombie outbreak in the Key City? That's what some community organizations want to find out.

The Center for Contemporary Arts and the Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District are teaming up with local, regional and state agencies to present "The Art of Response: Zombie Preparedness".

The focus of the event will be on emergency preparedness, featuring a response scenario to the "outbreak" of the fictional pathogen Abithraxis.

Attendees can come dressed as zombies and see what the emergency community has in place to battle outbreaks firsthand.

"The Art of Response: Zombie Preparedness" will take place Thursday, October 12 on Cypress Street in downtown Abilene from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
