Check Out These New Photos From ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9

The Walking Dead'sninth season, and final season for Rick and Maggie, doesn't debut for another 6 weeks or so, on October 7th.

To keep anticipation (or maybe dread) high, AMC has releaseda batch of new photos from the new season.

Let's take a look:

Michonne

I have to say, if there's one thing I always look forward to inThe Walking Deadit's Michonne (Danai Gurira). The show never gives her enough lines or enough of a story, but she's consistently badass and fun to watch. Sadly, I fear we may lose Gurira sooner than later thanks to her rising star. Roles inBlack PantherandAvengers: Infinity War,the year's two biggest films, may be enough to rescue her fromThe Walking Deadfor good.

The Knights Of The Round Table

Jerry (Cooper Andrews) is one of the few characters left onThe Walking Deadthat's truly likable. Hopefully he gets a bigger role in Season 9. He looks pretty awesome riding the horse in full armor, like some lostGame of Thronescharacter. I like Ezekiel (Khary Payton) but the showseriouslyneeds to tone down his Shakespearean stuff. Actually, just nix it. Let him toss in the odd antiquated phrase from time to time, but keep it minimum.

Maggie

Here we have another shot of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) looking like a leader, all blue to everyone else's grey. Judging by the trailer and the way Season 8 ended, "being a leader" will consist of crossing blades with Rick over not killingNegan. I fully anticipate this struggle to be stupid and forced, though this is exactly the kind of character-driven conflict I've been hoping for. I want to believe...I've just been burned so many times before.

Rick and Eugene

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is noticeably absent from any solo photos in this release, but we see him here with Eugene (Josh McDermitt) the traitor who really shouldn't ever be trusted again if only because his cowardice will always outweigh his loyalty. Also Ezekiel and Carol (Melissa McBride.)

Speaking of those two...

Lovebirds

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage. Then the baby gets bitten by a zombie and turns into a zombie baby. Then Carol freaks out again. I'm calling it right now.

I wonder how Daryl feels about this . . . .
