The Vampire Diaries may be over but that doesn't mean fans have seen everything.

Indeed, a recently released deleted scene from the series finale, unveiled by The Originals showrunner and Vampire Diaries EP Julie Plec over the weekend, shows another classic Steroline moment that sadly didn't make it into the final cut.

It does, however, reveal that Caroline takes on the name Mrs Forbes-Salvatore after their wedding.

Which, really, did you expect anything different?

The minute-and-a-half clip reveals what went down after Matt (Zach Roerig) decided the only safe option was to evacuate the town and right before Stefan and Damon set off to get Elena.

The dramatic showdown, of course, takes place on Caroline and Stefan's wedding day and, as revealed in this clip, Caroline isn't best pleased.

"I bet this isn't how you were expecting to spend our wedding night," he tells Caroline.

"In case things get chaotic later, I love you Mr Salvatore," she replies.

This incredibly soppy moment may not have made the finale but a lot of others did and we're still reeling from it all even now.

However, with The Originals not going anywhere having been officially confirmed for a fifth season and talks of another spin-off expanding from within the same universe, our visits to the world of Mystic Falls are far from over.

We bet Caroline's thrilled.
