Are you team Angel or team Spike? No answer is wrong. Buffy Summers is beautiful, funny, kind, and tough, so naturally, shes going to attract a few love interests, usually with a demonic background.

Seeing Buffy battle, not only demons, but dating as well, is one of the highlights of this show. Fans tuned in every week and binge-watch the show today to see who Buffy is punching and who she is kissing, or who she is punching and kissing. There are a few villains that Buffy never kissed, but maybe she should have. And there are a few more were glad she only touched with a stake.
The show could have taken a really interesting turn early on if Buffy had been able to save her childhood friend Billy. Billy, if you remember, showed up in Sunnyvale with a secret, a couple of them, actually.
Long story short, he promises a group of vampires the slayer if they promise to turn him into one of them because Billy is dying of cancer, but he doesnt want to die. Hed rather be undead. So, Billy isnt the brightest bulb, but he and Buffy clearly had a connection in this episode, enough to make both Xander and Angel jealous. I think if Billy had chosen a different path, he could have lived out the rest of his days happily, with our slayer.
The first problem here is, hes not her type. Adam is a Frankenstein-super-robot, not a demon. Adams evil is man-made and Buffy is above that. She prefers her mans evil to be organic, all-natural and as unscientific as possible.
Mostly because Buffy Summers most definitely failed all of her science classes in high school, so really, what do they have in common? What would they even talk about on a first date? They wouldnt. Hes too evil and science-y and shes too good for that. Not to mention, the fact that Buffys boyfriends boss-lady, Maggie Walsh, is the kook responsible for him, making Adam even more off-limits for the Slayer.
The Trios leader, and usually the brains behind their entire operation, is the 90s cliche high school outcast. The first couple seasons of this show center around the dynamics of high school and navigating all that goes into being a teenager. Warrens is no different, except that unlike our Scooby gang, Warren chooses the dark side and spends the majority of his time finding ways to battle the slayer.

What might have happened if instead of fighting the Slayer, Warren asked her out to coffee? Maybe he would have seen that shes not so bad, and our Scoobs could have added another member to their evil-fighting team.
This really goes without saying, but Buffy would never, ever, under any circumstances, ever hook up with the Mayor of Sunnydale because thats gross. Hes old enough to be her father and he tells way too many dad jokes. And, even if you ignore the fact that hes so evil he tried to kill off Buffys entire graduating class, hesso out of Buffy Summers' league.
The Slayer has much higher standards when it comes to men, and thankMr. Pointy for that because fans don'twant to see the Mayor in a romantic setting. No one.
An unconventional choice if youre being superficial and judging a book by its cover. Sure, Clem could use a little moisturizer and maybe a stylish hat wouldnt hurt, but for a demon, he has a heart of gold. Hes a peaceful demon and likes to lend a helping hand whenever Buffy needs it. Clem even steps into watch and protect Dawn, the most important person in Buffys life, when Glory comes to town with only one goal, which is to destroy Buffys sister.
Clem puts himself in harms way a couple of times to help Buffy out, which leads us to believe that maybe he had a thing for her, and maybe they could have been a cute couple, if Buffy could have just seen past those ears.
Again, this guy is just too old and yucky for Buffy. Though, the Master does feed Buffys daddy issues in a couple of ways and it would be easier to justify this one-night stand, then it would be to justify some of the others, but still, he killed her.

Buffy may not have had a super high GPA, but shes emotionally intelligent and knows that if a guy kills you, hes probably not worth your time and should definitely be dusted. Just look at what she did to Angelus in season two! Theres no room in Buffys life for someone who cant refrain from killing her. She respects herself too much to put up with that.
Really, its Ben who wouldve made the most sense for Buffy. Glory was a crazy demon/God with anger issues, which is a massive understatement.
Ben, however, was cute and smart and really wanted to help the Slayer. Its just that, every time he tried, he turned into Glory and actually ended up hurting Buffy more. If Ben hadnt just been a human prison for the most powerful villain Buffy ever had to face, these two really could have hit it off. As is evident in the episode I Was Made To Love You when Buffy flirts with Ben at that college party, but any sexual tension quickly dissolves April, the evil robot barges in and ruins everything.
Theres too much bad blood between these two. If you put them in a room alone together, theyre going to fight, and not in the way that eventually leads to a steamy make-out, like when Buffy fights with Spike.
Buffy is genuinely annoyed by Harmony and really just wants to kill her. Harmonys hate for Buffy runs deeper and only gets deeper when she learns of Buffy and Spikes romantic connection. Its safe to say these two will only ever be enemies, nothing more and nothing less.
Yes, Dark Willow was very scary and very powerful and ultimately, Xander was the one who stopped her and saved the day, but what if Buffy had gotten to Willow first? Good Willow and Buffy are the best of friends and the love they have for one another is probably more powerful than any strength Dark Willow could manifest from witchcraft and English covens.

Fan theories often speculate if Good Willow and Buffy could have ever ended up together, and maybe Willows bout with dark magic could have been the catalyst for that in an alternate Buffyverse.
This is the nicest way to put it: Zachary is just too dumb for Buffy. Buffy doesnt need to be with a genius. In fact, that probably wouldnt work, but she does need to be with someone who can carry on a conversation. Zachary is not that guy.
He spends most of his time yelling for pills and really has nothing profound to say once hes out of the cage and chasing Buffy through the watcher councils spooky house of doom. He does put up a pretty solid fight for Buffy, which is a total turn-on, but at the end of the day, she needs more than muscles to fall for someone. Also, the fact that Zach was a serial killer before he was a vampire, doesnt bode well for him in the eyes of our Slayer.
