Beta from The Walking Dead is the new Jason Voorhees – Undead Walking

There is something absolutely terrifying about a monster that wont stop its pursuit at any cost. The Walking Dead may be about zombies, but the hulking Beta has proved that stopping him will be a massive task considering everything he has survived so far.

In fact, Beta has survived falling down an elevator shaft, fights with several of the toughest survivors on the show, and even being shot at point-blank range with a Colt Python pistol by Judith Grimes.

Of course, this isnt something new to fans of horror. Several of the best slasher films in history have centered around terrifying individuals who relentlessly pursue their targets. Individuals like Michael Myers from Halloween,Victor Crowley in Hatchet, and others are easy comparisons to the brawn of Beta.

However, season 10 episode 10 of The Walking Dead made choosing the perfect comparison for Beta easy. Beta is the new Jason Voorhees.

Of course, Jason Voorhees is iconic in the horror community and known to even casual moviegoers for wearing a hockey mask in the Friday the 13th film series and teaching people at Camp Crystal Lake a lesson for letting him drown while the lifeguards were oblivious to what was happening.

The scene that cemented the comparison is when Beta jumped into a tunnel and used an underground path to place himself strategically for an attack on unsuspecting victims. Fans may remember Jason seemingly transporting himself in the original film series, but that wasnt quite a case in the 2009 reboot.

The modernization of the Friday the 13th movie featured a version of Jason that used a system of underground tunnels to have direct paths to different locations and surprise those who were exhausted from attempting to run away from the unstoppable murdering machine.

To add even more to the comparison, Derek Mears, the actor who played Jason in the 2009 film is 6-foot-5 while Ryan Hurst, who plays Beta, is 6-foot-4. Plus, both actors and characters are physically intimidating enough to make believable threats to any person or civilization.
