Castlevania: Symphony of the Night shows up on Apple and Android devices – CNET

Alucard's greatest adventure is on iOS and Android.

The shadow of Dracula has fallen over Apple and Android devices. The incredible Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is available for $2.99, ahead of the Netflix show's third season landing on Friday.

Konami's action RPG, which was originally released on PlayStation in 1997, puts you in the gothically fashionable cloak of Dracula's son Alucard as he explores his dad's castle and battles the evil forces within. It has loads of secrets to uncover, including hidden bosses and multiple endings.

The mobile version offers onscreen virtual controls and is compatible with Bluetooth controllers. It also has achievements to earn and a "new continue feature," which presumably means you won't be thrown back to a save point when you die. It can be played in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

If you'd prefer to play on a current console, it's available on PS4 as part of the Castlevania Requiem collection and on Xbox One via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. However, it isn't on Nintendo Switch -- please get on that, Konami!
