It might seem that vampire TV shows are a dime a dozen these days but The Originals is one of the most special and entertaining vampire TV shows of all time! The first episode of this epic TV show aired in 2013 and the final episode aired in 2018. We got five seasons total of this interesting show that focuses on the character of Klaus Mikaelson. People who loved Vampire Diaries fell head over heels in love with The Originals!

Members of the cast include Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, and Danielle Campbell. It also includes Claire Holt, Leah Pipes, and more. These actors played extremely interesting humans, vampires, werewolves, and hybrids! The show is based in the city of New Orleans and lets us peek into the supernatural lives of some amazing characters as they experience life-changing moments on a daily basis.

Nathan Parsons clearly has a passion for appearing in vampire-themed entertainment between filming The Originals and True Blood.Luckily for him, both show creators were willing to accommodate him and his scheduling needs. Seeing Nathan Parsons appear in multiple vampire-themed shows is pretty cool!

The character of Josh Rosza was almost killed off in season one! How shocking is that? It is a great thing that he ended up surviving through season one and maintaining his position on the show because he became an adored character on the show right away! It's always interesting when characters survive longer than they're meant to.

It is the most amazing thing ever when actors and actresses are able to create true connectionsor friendships with their co stars while filming TV shows and movies together. That has been the case for actresses Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin. They are actually real-life best friends!

Fans of The Originals speculated that the character of Elijah Michaelson was part of the LGBTQ community for a while there because he seemed so disinterested in the idea of romance andaffectionate relationships. It has been confirmed that he actually is not part of the LGBTQ community, however.

Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin are not the only members of the cast to create a genuine friendship with each other off-camera. Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies are best friends in real life too! They often enjoy pranking each other on the set of the show a sign of how close they are!

As shocking as this might sound, The Originals actually pulled in higher ratings than Vampire Diaries ever did. Even though Vampire Diaries is the show that came first, The Originals ended up blowing Vampire Diaries out of the water when it came to reactions from fans and the number of viewers that were tuning in.

Charles Michael Davis actually auditioned for a role in Vampire Diaries before auditioning for his role in The Originals. He ended up successfully snagging a role in The Originals but he never was able toland a role in Vampire Diaries, even though he auditioned over five times in total.

Before Joseph Morgan was cast asKlaus Mikaelson, he auditioned to be Voldemort in Harry Potter. It is a good thing that he did not get the rolein Harry Potter because if he had, no one would have been able to recognize his face with all of that prosthetic makeup on. Since he plays the role ofKlausMikaelson, we are still able to recognize his handsome face.

Producer Julie Plec ended up having to defend Leah Pipes against cyberbullies on Twitter at one point in time. She intervened when Leah Pipes was getting attackedby random haters and trolls on the internet. It just goes to show what an incredible woman Julie Plec is.

Charles Michael Davis was actually a model before he was an actor on The Originals. It is no surprise to us that he was dominating the world of modeling before turning to the world of acting because of how good-looking he is. Even if hewere to stop acting now, he could easily return to modeling.

Daniel Gillies married Rachael Leigh Cook in real life! She was a teen actress on the movie Shes All That. She is one of those beautiful starlets who only really needed one major movie in order to become a household name. The fact that these two ended up together is super adorable and romantic.

The Originals was originally meant to be set in the city of Chicago instead of New Orleans. The show creators decided to change things up by basing the show in New Orleans. We wonder why they decided to make the change from Chicago, which was where they were originally planning for.

The reason The Originals even exists today is because of things that fans posted on social media during the time that Vampire Diaries was coming to an end. Fans of Vampire Diaries wanted to see more of the Mikaelson family! Show creators heard the fans loud and clear and moved forward with that idea.

The Originals is considered the CWs first-ever successful spin-off. Like we mentioned earlier, the only reason a show like The Flash exists is that The Originals as a spin-off was so successful and popular amongst audiences. No one could have predicted just how successful The Originals was going to be.
