Bonnie Tyler hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is about vampires – Boing Boing

I recently came across this 2002 Playbill interview with songwriter Jim Steinman, who passed away earlier this year. The conversation was mostly about his then-upcoming Broadway flop, Dance of the Vampires, which oddly included the Steinway-penned Bonnie Tyler hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Why include an 80s love ballad in your vampire musical? Continue reading

[Review] Glenn Danzig’s ‘Death Rider in the House of Vampires’ Has All the Charm…and Flaws of ‘Verotika’ – Bloody Disgusting

I was fortunate enough to attend the world premiere of punk legend Glenn Danzigs first feature film Verotika back in 2019 during Chicagos Cinepocalypse Film Festival. At that time, no one knew what a movie written and directed by the Misfits frontman would look like, so hopes were high that Danzigs voice would be as exciting for horror as it had been for music. This, of course, was not the case, and Verotika was a catastrophe the likes of which we rarely get to see in the age of focus groups and market testing. Continue reading

What We Do in the Shadows Season 3 Prepares For Colin Robinson’s 100th Birthday – Den of Geek

An early trailer revealed the vampires from Staten Island now represent the Tri-State area in the Vampiric Council. WWDITS season 2 ended with the slaughter of almost everyone in a leadership position, so the seats had to be filled. The second rule of vampiric leadership is keeping asses in seats, the first being dont kill vampires, so choosing these four might seem a grave clerical error Continue reading

Edge Evokes the Shadow of The Blood and the Vampire on SmackDown – Last Word on Baseball

Edge and Seth Rollinss SummerSlam 2021 bout is being billed as seven years in the making, dating back to a moment in which Rollins threatened to curb stomp Edges neck, compromised by injury and surgical repair. More recently, Edges shot at the Universal Championship was botched by Rollins, who intervened on behalf of Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank. The move wasnt a show of solidarity for his former Shield brother, but a calculated move on the part of The Architect: eliminate Edge from the running for Universal Championship, which Rollins has in his sights Continue reading
