The Walking Dead finally explains this Daryl season 7 Easter egg … – DigitalSpy.com

The Walking Dead season 7 spawned a number of interesting fan theories that sadly didn't turn out to be true.

"Daryl was communicating in Morse code!" "Eugene is actually still on Rick's side and this game proves it!"

But the mystery surrounding Daryl's jumpsuit was never really addressed. When the fan-favourite character was in Negan's captivity early on (and was subjected to 'Easy Street' on loop), the outfit he wore had a massive 'A' emblazoned on it.

Fans wondered if there was anything special to it. Revealed by Angela Kang (who wrote the Daryl-centric episode 'The Cell') on the commentary as part of the season 7 Blu-ray, it turns out that there's a meaning behind the letter, but it's not as elegant as you may think.

"It just means 'asshole'," Kang said.

"They're being juvenile. Like an asshole and an 'F' and an 'S' for 'f**kface' and 'shithead'."

We're now just weeks away from the start of the eighth season (and the show's 100th episode). And Tom Payne who plays Hilltop badass Jesus thinks fans will be lapping up the new episodes.

"Season 8 certainly starts with a big bang and then continues to ramp up, which is really exciting," the actor said.

"I know the audience will be really happy with certainly how it starts, because they're taking the fight back, and then every single episode in the first half, there's a moment which makes you go, 'Wow, oh my god, I can't believe that'."

The Walking Dead launches its eighth season on October 22 on AMC in the US. It will air on FOX in the UK.
