Castlevania season 3, episode 2 recap: The Reparation of My Heart – Show Snob

In episode 302 of Netflix series Castlevania, Isaac and the Captain make it happen, Carmilla keeps scheming, and Alucard meets new vampire hunters.

Previously on Castlevania, Trevor (Richard Armitage) and Sypha (Alejandra Reynoso) entered a new town called Lindenfeld. We also caught up with Carmilla (Jaime Murray), revealed to be as cruel, including to Hector (Theo James), the devil forge master.

We also saw that, in the wake of killing Dracula (Graham McTavish), his son Alucard (James Callis) is pathetically lonely. Episode 302 begins with people screaming as Isaac (Adetokumboh MCormack) rolls into a new town. The forge master acquires a distance mirror to learn the location of Hector who is still locked in Carmillas dungeon.

Unfortunately, some townspeople foolishly want to fight Isaac and his crazed entourage of monsters. They are, of course, devoured by Isaacs assorted beasts. After the creatures have their meal, Isaac approaches a boatman (Lance Reddick) for a ship to Genoa. He initially expects to kill him simply. However, he promises he will act as captain of the vessel if his life may be spared. Isaac agrees, and the boatman is to simply be called Captain.

Meanwhile, Carmilla unveils her battleplan to her sisters, and also that she wants Hector to forge new night creatures to create human livestock (as opposed to wiping everyone out, as Dracula intended). There is a problem, though: Carmillas cruelty assures that Hector might betray them. Lenore (Jessica Brown Findlay) promises to convince Hector to help them.

Still, in Lindenfeld, Belmont is approached by Saint Germain (Bill Nighy), who says hes familiar with the Belmont family. Germain then meets Sala (Navid Negahban), telling Sala that he knows Dracula.

In the last episode of Castlevania, Sala seemed to have a vague affinity to Dracula. This time, Sala expressed the idea that Draculas wife is alive in Hell. How does he know this? We dont yet know, but it sounds like a hot vacation spot.

Anyway, Castlevaniathen looks again at Alucards life. It turns out not to be eternally mundane or leisurely. Sensing an ambush while out in the woods, Alucard ends up tackling someone named Sumi (Rila Fukushima) to the ground.

He reveals his name, and also that of Taka (Toru Uchikado). They say they are vampire hunters who escaped Cho, a General in Draculas war. Alucard agrees to help them, though they havent quite revealed the nature of their quest.
