Theatre of Dare is rising from the grave of a postponed season to bring a livestream reading of Orson Welless Mercury Radio Theatre presentation of Dracula to the safety and comfort of your own home!

Just in time for Halloween, the last minute addition to their 30th Season, Dracula will be Theatre of Dares first show of the season and more notably their first ever livestream performance.

Our talented cast and crew have been working hard to create a production that not only celebrates the classic medium for which it was created, but also modernizes it for our digital age audiences. Said Stuart Parks II, the Director of Dracula and Board President of Theatre of Dare.

Originally produced and adapted by Orson Welles for the radio, Dracula transferred wonderfully to the world of radio productions as an hour long radio play, with dynamic music, sound effects, and performances that have continued to thrill audiences over the years. To accompany its talented cast and foley artists sonic performances, the Theatre of Dare team has crafted a unique multi-camera visual experience that is bound to mesmerize its audience.

For a special Halloween night only treat, the cast and crew will be flipping the script of Dracula and showcasing a reimagining of the classic tale entitled Draculescu. For Draculescu were shaking things up with a reimagining of the classic tale where every male character will be switched to female, and every female character becomes male, says Parks. Which turns the whole story on its head. So its well worth turning in for both versions of the show to see two very different shows with two different sets of actors.

Despite not having a 50/50 raffle due to the lack of a live audience, Parks notes that Theatre of Dares fundraising efforts will continue for the groups scholarship program.

While the show is free we are still accepting donations for our scholarship program which is ultimately what were trying to help raise money for, added Parks. Audiences can help support the fund by purchasing a t-shirt and or hoody featuring the new Theatre of Dare 30th season logo, or donate directly to the scholarship, all of which can be done on the community theatres website, http://www.theatreofdareobx.com.

Dont miss your chance to see Theatre of Dares FREE live stream performances of Mercury Radio Theatres Dracula on October 29th and 30th at 7:30 pm, followed by the reimagined tale of Draculescu on October 31st, at 7:30pm, both of which can be streamed live at http://www.theatreofdareobx.com.
