According to Deadline, Corey Hawkins (Kong: Skull Island, Straight Outta Compton) has been cast to star in the new Dracula-centered film Last Voyage of the Demeter from Amblin.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a terrifying presence onboard the ship. when it finally arrived near Whitby Harbor, it was a derelict. There was no trace of the crew.
The film has been passed around for the better part of two decades looking for a chance to be developed before Amblin picked up the project. With Andre Ovredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) directing and Zak Olkewicz (Bullet Train) writing the screenplay. No official release date has been announced yet for the project either.
