ROSENDALE After having their 2020 schedule of live shows wiped out by the pandemic, Frank Marquettes Murder Cafe looked for alternative ways to entertain their loyal fans and friends. Over the past 22 years, they have achieved a reputation for presenting quality entertainment, and Frank was not going to let the quarantine stop him. The answer was theatre on the mind sound.

Hudson Valley Radio Theatre made its debut in early April with Murder Me Always, a whodunit Murder Caf first presented on stage at Mohonk Mountain House in 2017. It has been followed by 10 additional radio programs, all performed by members of our Murder Caf troupe on Zoom. Editing, sound effects and music are added by the companys tech director, Kenny Drao.

The current list of available programs includes the murder mysteries Murder Caf is known for, classic drama and suspense, famous authors and variety. On September 1st Hudson Valley Radio Theatre will present Dracula. Written by Crane Johnson, and licensed by Dramatists Play Service, Marquettes troupe staged a live version of this play on Bannerman Island in 2018 and 2019 to enthusiastic audiences and positive reviews.

Using Anchor.com as their hub, Hudson Valley Radio Theatres programs can be heard on 9 different platforms, including Spotify, RadioAmerica, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Breaker and iHeartRADIO. You can also access our plays on our YouTube channel and website, hudsonvalleyradiotheatre.com.

All programming is free although Marquette relies on donations and sponsors to support their actors and production expenses. To date those sponsors include Ulster Savings Bank, Bannerman Castle Trust and Studio KTM.

Analytics show Hudson Valley Radio Theatres programs have listeners in 21 countries and 25 states. Remarkably, we are less than five months old.

About Frank Marquette Frank has been involved with hundreds of interactive comedy plays since 1994. Performing since the age of 17, he has appeared with theatre groups in New York, Nevada and New Mexico. As an actor and director, Frank recently collaborated with the Manhattan Repertory Company in New York City. He has produced, written and emceed variety shows for many charitable causes. Since 1998 Frank has been the owner-operator of Murder Caf.
