Keanu Reeves says he’s married to Winona Ryder ‘under the eyes of God’ – New York Post

Til death do Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder part.

The pair, who played lovers in the Francis Ford Coppola 1992 dark drama Dracula, got married in one scene but could technically be wedded in real life, too.

Reeves, 57, recently joked that the nuptials in the film were done by an actual priest and he and the Stranger Things star, 50, might be man and wife.

We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests, Reeves told Esquire. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess were married under the eyes of God.

Ryder has also claimed that the two actually tied the knot in a Greek Orthodox church in Los Angeles.

We actually got married in Dracula, she revealed in a 2018 Entertainment Weekly interview. No, I swear to God I think were married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think were married.

This is pretty authentic and I think very beautiful, because we actually did the ceremony and had the priest do the ceremony, Coppola told the Guardian in 2018. So in a sense, when we were all done, we realized that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.

Ryder and the John Wick actor have been friends for decades and have starred in other films together such as 2006s A Scanner Darkly,The Private Lives of Pippa Lee in 2009 and 2018s Destination Wedding.

Reeves was also profiled for Esquires forthcoming December issue in which his other friend and frequent co-star Sandra Bullock said the two could have survived as a couple, but denied ever dating him.

Keanus a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman hes ever dated, said the Oscar winner, 57. I dont think theres anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I dont know.

But we didnt have to survive anything, said Bullock, who starred with Reeves in Speed. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being.

Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not, Bullock said.
