The internet reacts to the PlayStation 5 Eurogamer.net – Eurogamer.net

After what felt like an eternal wait, last night we finally got a look at the PlayStation 5 - but something that really didn't take long was the appearance of hundreds upon hundreds of PS5 memes. As is tradition, the internet immediately came up with a range of extremely silly reactions to the console, and if your Twitter feed wasn't already full of them - well, let me help you out.

One of the first things people seemed to pick up on was that the console has some strangely villainous vibes, possibly because of the white flares at the top, which look like a Dracula-esque collar. We were quickly treated to Sauron, Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Seto Kaiba and Dr. Heinz "Doof" Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb.

For those who didn't quite like the stormtrooper colour scheme, a trip to Photoshop was required: and out came these re-imagined versions of the PlayStation 5, including a snazzy-looking Miles Morales theme to match the upcoming Spider-Man expansion.

As seems to happen every time there's a console or controller reveal, anime girl fan art of the PlayStation 5 has also surfaced in a remarkably short space of time. Most of it isn't particularly appropriate for our family-friendly website, so here's one of the more tame examples. I've seen things on the PS5 Twitter hashtag that will haunt me, mostly involving Ratchet and Clank. You have been warned.

And finally, because it's my personal favourite and doesn't really fit in anywhere else: a reference to The Devil Wears Prada. Teraflops? For Spring? Groundbreaking.
