‘Trumpet in the Land’ opening season postponed – News – New Philadelphia Times Reporter

The opening of the 2020 season of Trumpet in the Land, originally scheduled for June 19, has been postponed until further notice due to social distancing guidelines established to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The board plans to meet in early June to see if revised Ohio public health guidelines have been established that would allow the organization to stage a streamlined version of Trumpet in the Land on the amphitheatre stage later this summer. It is also looking into offering smaller musicals and other entertainment events, including the Dracula production in the fall.

If the season is pushed back further into June or July, it will become less economically viable for the company to produce large scale production. The companys ability to produce a show also depends on local colleges reopening for fall, as college students typically make up the bulk of the Trumpet company.
