2020 saw the release of several horror movies that were entertaining rather than truly terrifying. Here are some of the best worst 2020 horror films.

There are classics from past decades that will always be beloved, along with newer films that offer up fun surprises, but there are also scary movies that are campy or just plain bad.

2020 brought some horror movies that told interesting stories and featured fresh takes on a seance, like the zoom movie,Host, ora horrible marriage, likeThe Invisible Man. But it also saw the release of several movies in the genre thatwere entertaining rather than truly terrifying.

Blumhouse produced a horror movie of the TV series Fantasy Islandand it wasn't very well-crafted.While the story is fascinating, as a group of strangers are asked to go to a beautiful island so their wishes and dreams can come true, the execution isn't anything too exciting.

The movie is pretty dull and it's neither scary nor dramatic. It's still worth watching, though, because some of the characters have backstories that are at least a little bit compelling: one missed the chance to marry her soulmate and another wanted to get revenge on a former bully.

There are three horror movies in theBabysitterfranchise on Netflix and they join the long list of movies about babysitters caught up in a scary situation.

In this case, the babysitter herself is bad news: Bee is part of a satanic cult and, in the first movie, young Cole realizes that he's in for a pretty terrifying evening. The third movie was released in 2020 and whileCole is scared of Bee, the movie itself isn't scary at all. It's still a fairly entertaining watch, though.

InYou Should Have Left, a couple and their young child rent a house for some time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

This trip becomes terrifying almost immediately, as it's clear that there's something wrong with the house. Theo and Susanna appear to have a happy marriage at first, but then he learns that she's cheating on him, and audiences learn about a dark secret that Theo has been keeping. This is a fairly campy horror movie that might not be as surprising or well-told as others, but it's got a high entertainment value.

Known for her time on Game Of Thrones, Maisie Williams stars in this 2020 horror movie about three young adults who break into the home of an older couple.

The characters learn that there's something much bigger going on, and there are some dramatic reveals near the end of the movie. It's not one of the better horror movies of 2020, or even of the past decade, and it's fair to say that the storytelling becomes a bitconvoluted. It's a great "so bad it's good" movie, that's for sure.

Gretel & Hanselis a fun and entertaining watch thanks to the fairy tale that it's based on. Everyone knows the story of the kids who find a house in the forest where an evil witch lives.

While not one of the better adaptations of this classic tale, this 2020 horror movie falls flat and falls into the "bad but good" category. It doesn't offer much in terms of originality or interesting characters, but it does look pretty great.

The 2020 reboot of The Grudgemight never have been able to live up to its predecessor. The2004 movie tells the story of a student named Karen who seesKayako's ghost when taking care of an older woman.

Kristen Stewart fans will definitely want to check outUnderwater, the science-fiction horror movie that came out last year.

A crew is stuck underwater, as the name suggests, and it turns out that there are some scary creatures there, too. It's not a particularly enjoyable movie, since the premise is unnerving, but it fits into the "so bad it's good" genre as it's fun to watch the creatures and feel the suspense.

When a horror movie is amazing, it's got a story that gets better as it nears its conclusion, characters who feel real, and of course, it delivers more terror than just the typical jump scares or other horror movie tropes.

The 2020 movieDeath Of Memight be a campy guilty pleasure, but it's not a very unique film. At the beginning, a couple watches a video of one of them murdering the other. That will make people sit up right away and pay attention, although the rest of the film is pretty dull.

Both The TurningandtheHaunting of Bly Manor horror series on Netflixare based on Henry Jame's novellaThe Turn Of The Screw. In both works, a governess takes care of two children with a sad past in a beautiful Gothic mansion, and the question remains: is she seeing ghosts or is it all in her head?

The 2020 horror movie looks amazing but isn't the right adaptation. It only received a 12 percent audience score onRotten Tomatoesand it's not as scary as it should be.Bly Manordoes a better job dealing with the characters, who have problems besides thespirits surrounding them. Although it's a fairly bad movie, it's still good in its own way.

Sequels are rarely as great as the first movie andthat happened here, too. While the doll in Brahms: The Boy II is super creepy, the first film is so much more compelling.

If a great horror movie should keep audiences on the edge of their seat, with no idea what is about to happen next, that movie watching experience might not happen here. But although it doesn't offer anything fresh to the scary doll genre, it will still offer some entertainment on a chilly night.
