Its the first full week of October, and nearly TWENTY brand new horror movies and shows are on the way. Perhaps were a little biased here, as it is after all a Bloody Disgusting project, but were absolutely thrilled to unleash the wild V/H/S/94 this week, for starters, which currently has a fresh 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Were insanely proud of this one, and we think fans of the franchise are going to be very pleased with the segments this time around.
But thats only the tip of the iceberg for the week of October 4, 2021, so lets talk a closer look at ALL of the new horror thats headed our way between now and October 10th!
We kick the week off with the Digital release of David Bruckners critically acclaimed new horror movie The Night House, which will be available at home on Tuesday, October 5.
The Night House was released exclusively in theaters back in August, and while were talking Rotten Tomatoes scores, it scared up an impressive 86% fresh rating.
The Night House is a standout film Its moody and atmospheric, but above all, its scary as hell, raved Meagan Navarro in her reviewout of the Sundance premiere.
In the film, Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. Before long, disturbing visions of a presence in the house begin to beckon her with a ghostly allure. Yearning for answers, she begins digging into her husbands belongings, only to discover strange and disturbing secrets.
October 5th will also see the Netflix premiere of Escape the Undertaker, an interactive movie starring WWE legend The Undertaker and superstars Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods.
The unique experience invites you directly into The Undertakers haunted house, and you will control the fate of the New Day as they make their way through the nightmare.
You can watch the trailer now for a sneak peek.
Not to be confused with the emotional Val Kilmer documentary that just came out this year, Dread presents new horror-comedy Val, releasing digitally on October 5th.
In the film from director Aaron Fradkin, A criminal on the run breaks into the home of a high class escort, only to realize nothing is as it seems.
More indie horror is on the way this Tuesday, with Lionsgate howling at The Amityville Moon. This ones a werewolf movie, as you might imagine, and the cast includes A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Dream Master actress Tuesday Knight as Sister Ruth.
As Alyssa and Karla try to escape from the church home that holds them captive, Karla is slaughtered by a vicious, semi-human creature. Watch the trailer here.
Rodents of unusual size? They actually do exist in this weeks indie horror movie The Mutation, which is the final new horror movie release for Tuesday, October 5th.
The trailer for this one is a mixed bag of a cool-looking practical monster and a terrible-looking computer-generated monster, with the star of the show here being a man/rat hybrid.
After a deadly experiment on a rat goes wrong, the mutated rat has been let loose in a city and a group of detectives are on the hunt for the beast. Zoologist, Allen Marsh must work alongside a grieving widow to help the detectives capture and exterminate the mutated rat. As the body count rises, no one is safe, and the rat is growing at a rapid pace!
