When we think of the horror genre, often Korean content is overlooked. But trust us when we say that the quality of content the Korean cinematic industry has produced lately is grabbing eyeballs. The Korean entertainment industry is contributing a lot to Asian cinema.

Over the period, South Korea has taken the horror genre by storm. Their nonconventional storyline, graphic representation, and acting can give you nightmares, to say the least. In these movies, the makers have presented the darker side in the most unusual ways. If you thought you had enough doses of paranormal drama, wait unless you watch some of the IMBDs highest-rated Korean horror movies and series on Netflix that are a lot more psychologically twisted.

If you havent watched it yet, you are certainly missing out on one of the best zombie apocalypse cinema of all times. Its one of those horror films that will leave you terrified. The story revolves around Seok-woo and his little daughter, Su-An who board a bullet train to Busan to see Su-Ans mother. Everything is fine until a woman gets on the train and the biggest nightmare starts. Its the fight for survival. Passengers need to work in sync to be safe. But is the world safe outside?

Kingdom, a very popular Korean series is a two-part tv show that begins after the Japanese invasion of Korea. The story begins as the throne king of Korea falls ill. To know about his fathers illness, crown prince Lee Cang flees from the kingdom to meet the royal physician. However, back home he is declared a traitor by his pregnant stepmothers family. While the prince is on his way, a new horror awaits. A plague is spreading throughout the land. The dead are coming back to life but as bloodthirsty beasts.

The Wailing is a supernatural k-horror thriller that will leave you hooked to the screen. What sets this movie apart from other Korean horror movies is how it blends folklore with modern times. The movie is about a village where people start dying due to a weird infection. Soon a policemans daughter is infected and they see a shaman (a person who goes in a trance state and has access to the world of good and evil spirits). But will the shamans trick heal the girl before its too late?

What if you have spooky fellow residents? Ever thought how would that turn out to be? Yoon JongWoo lands up a job in a small company in Seoul. While he is very optimistic about this turn, life has different plans for him. He rents a small cheap room in an apartment that has a shared kitchen and bathroom. Soon he meets his fellow residents and feels things are not as they seem to be.

The Host is entertaining and horrifying both at the same time. For people who loved Parasite, Okja, Snowpiercer The Host is one of the early works of Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho. From action, social commentary to dark humour, this is yet another of Bongs amazing pieces of work. In the film, a massive lizard-like monster emerges from the Han River and begins ravaging Seoul. After the monster swipes away his daughter, a dim-witted man and his siblings must battle the monsterand unsympathetic authoritiesto rescue her. The movie brilliantly conveys anti-American sentiments and introduces us to a big lizard monster. The story revolves around Park Gang-du who is a dim-witted father but always ready to do anything for his daughter Hyun-seo.
