Cue: horror comedy movies. A set of films that maintain the balance in bright morning scenes and dingy, dark scary setups. Most importantly, theyre in abundance of suchhorror comedieson Netflix, check out some of our top picks here:

Briefly explained, The Babysitter is a stream of comedy scenes with a sprinkle of jump scares. The plot of the movie is simple, a young boys parents hire a babysitter as theyre travelling out of town, and she invites a bunch of friends once the boy is asleep. However, things take a weird turn when the teenagers kill one of their friends and attempt to practice some black magic. The rest is a comedy of errors and some spooky scenes.

Stree is probably the only Bollywood horror comedy on Netflix, and it truly deserves the spot. The movie features some power-packed performances from young Bollywood actors: Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee. Not to mention, the brilliant Pankaj Tripathi. It tells the story of the status of females in small towns and the concept of consent through the lens of the horror comedy genre. The movie is a complete package and should be on your list for more than one reason.

The Scary Movie is probably the most successful parody movie franchise of the 2000s. And, Scary Movie 5 serves as a sweet throwback to the time we binged movies on TV sets. It features Charlie Sheen as himself and Lindsay Lohan as herself, parodies various horror films (think Paranormal Activity, Black Swan, Mama and Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and other popular culture. It also features a huge ensemble cast that will keep you entertained throughout the film.

Just as the title suggests, Happy Death Day is about the death day of the lead in this film. Tree (Jessica Rothe) keeps waking up on the same day and is stuck in an infinite loop. And, in some or the other manner (poisoned, choked, shot etc.) she dies, and wakes up again in the same bed, on the same day. This loop serves multiple scary, yet hilarious scenarios where she tries to escape murder. The good part? We get entertained and she eventually survives too.

This is the kind of movie one pictures when they say zombies are dumb. A humorous take on the post-apocalyptic scene, Zombieland will entertain you and hit you with well-timed scares too. A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America the synopsis is a clear indicator of the entertainer that this film is.

The movie works on a downright scary concept, which would produce a spine-chilling horror movie but gives it a refreshing horror comedy spin. It is one of the best horror comedies on Netflix and is totally worth your time its quarantine anyway, whos counting the binge hours? The movie focuses on a budding father-son relationship, where the father starts to believe the son might be satanic. Get comfortable with a bag of snacks and get ready to be amused by this one.

This ones in Spanish (with English subtitles) but that shouldnt be a problem since we have binged Money Heist, and several other Spanish shows on Netflix. The Bar looks at a diverse group of people stuck inside a bar, as two people were shot by a sniper after exiting it. Predictably, these people start turning against each other as they suspect one of them is the reason for the shooting. However, what we get is a set of comic instances and some heart-in-mouth moments too.
