7 worst Horror movies on Netflix, MX Player and YouTube that are so bad theyre actually funny – GQ India

There are horror movies like It, The Shining, The Exorcist, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, that give us sleepless nights, and successfully feed our fears and phobias by bringing our worst nightmares on screen.

Then there are some horror moviesthat are so bad theyre actually funny. Be it the botched-up story plot, over-acting by the cast or the hilarious dialogues and situations that make no sense at all, these movies will make you cringe and laugh at their flaws instead of feeling scared.

Directed by Uwe Boll, the film is loosely based on an arcade video game of the same name and features Jonathan Cherry, Tyron Leitso, Clint Howard, Ona Grauer, Kira Clavell and Ellie Cornell. The story follows a group of friends who travel to a remote island to attend a rave party. What they think would be the best time of their lives turns out to be their worst nightmare as they are welcomed by a group of zombies waiting on the island to kill them. The terrible action scenes and even worse performances turn this otherwise decent story into a comedy of errors.

If Steven Spielbergs Jaws is a cult classic, Jaws 3-D directed by Joe Alves is the exact opposite. In other words, this is a movie sequel no one asked for or wanted in the first place. Starring Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Lea Thompson and Louis Gossett Jr. this film is the third installment in the Jaws franchise, and revolves around a group of marine biologists, who try to capture a young Great White shark after it enters an aquatic park. However, things go horribly wrong when a ferocious mother shark breaks into the park in search of her baby.

In this romantic horror movie directed by James Nguyen, a flock of mutated eagles and vultures cause destruction by attacking and terrorizing the people of a quiet town in California. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds, this movie is about Rod (Alan Bagh) and Nathalie (Whitney Moore), who meet and fall in love in a town that is being attacked by birds. Critics have unanimously called this as one of the worst films of all time.

Directed by Jim Isaac, this American sci-fi slash horror film is the tenth installment of the Friday the 13th film series and features Lexa Doig, Lisa Ryder, Chuck Campbell and Kane Hodder. In 2010, Jason Voorhees, our beloved masked killer, is captured by the US government and cryogenically frozen. Fast-forward 445 years into the future, Earth is no longer safe, and humans have now moved to a new planet, Earth-Two. However, things turn ugly when Jason is discovered by some young space travellers who accidentally bring him to life, and Jason starts attacking people one by one. Hands down the worst ranking movie in the entire franchise.

Nicolas Cage is known for some of his finest performances in Ghost Rider, National Treasure and Face/Off,but sometimes even the most seasoned actors can make poor choices while selecting films, and The Wicker Man happens to be one of them. Nicolas Cage plays a cop who travels to a remote island inhabited by a neo-pagan community to find his missing daughter. The population on the island is predominantly female and their economy depends on the production of honey. As Cage enters the island, he realises that there is a much bigger and deadlier mystery surrounding the island. Although intended to scare the wits out of its viewers, the film turned out to be an unintentional comedy thanks to Cages over-dramatic performance and equally terrible direction.

Starring Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, John Heard, Jason Simmons and Cassandra Scerbo, this sci-fi horror film is so bad that its good. When a freak tornado moves from Mexico to Los Angeles, natures deadliest killers become the rulers of the sea, land, and air, as the tornado unleashes a herd of sharks in the city that are attacking anything and anyone that comes in their way. How a group of friends risks their lives to fight this disastrous Sharknado forms the rest of the plot.

Directed by Jennifer Lynch, this horror movie revolves around a vengeful shape-shifting cobra, played by Mallika Sherawat. The snake woman wreaks havoc on a greedy man trying to acquire her nagmani to become immortal after he kidnaps and tortures her mate to find her. In the process, she transforms into a beautiful woman and goes on a killing spree while helping other helpless women. Apart from Mallika Sherawat, the film also stars Irrfan Khan, Divya Dutta and Jeff Doucette. Even though the film doesnt offer a great cinematic experience, you can still watch it for Irrfan Khan.
