A brilliantly scary horror movie is among the movies on TV tonight – JOE.ie

We've put together the three must-watch movies and shows for the whole weekend, which you can check out right here:

But for Friday night, here is what you've got to choose from in terms of the movies on the telly...

Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson star in this very charming, easy-to-watch romantic comedy.

Arguably the worst of the X-Men movies, but at least Hugh Jackman is as good as always.

It's a completely different movie. It's a different shark.

The raunch is back on full display, but now everyone is that bit older, and it feels... weird.

A very good dark thriller telling the story of a woman (Olivia Wilde) who helps other women escape from abusive relationships, all while she is secretly tracking down her own abusive ex, with plans to kill him.

Edgar Wright's action-thriller focuses on a supremely skilled getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) and the team of bank robbers (Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, etc.) he's been hired to transport.

Recently turned 15 years old, this coming-of-age comedy is well worth a rewatch.

Our pick for the night is an under-appreciated horror gem, set in a North Pole-adjacent town which is about to be plunged into a full month of darkness for their winter.

The few people who stay behind (including Josh Hartnett and Melissa George) find themselves under siege by a group of vampires, using the permanent night to their advantage.

Not given much critical or commercial love when it was released in 2007, it definitely deserves to re-evaluated, as its bleak, savage thrills are delivered brilliantly.

Daniel Day-Lewis, Helena Bonham Carter, Maggie Smith and more star in this much-loved romantic drama.

A struggling baseball team suddenly find themselves doing very well when a mysterious middle-aged player (Richard Gere) joins their team, playing with a bat made from the wood from a tree that was struck by lightning.

Jennifer Lopez decides to restart her life in the corporate world, despite having no experience. So she fakes it until she makes it, but will someone find her out?

A brilliant thriller in which three teenagers break into the home of a blind man, only to discover he is much more capable of defending himself than they could've ever realised.
