American horror movie shot in Halifax – Local Xpress

If you've noticed a lot of film trucksthe American movie Polaroid has been shooting in Halifax.

Polaroid is Dimension Films' latest horror movie and is based on Norwegian director Lars Klevberg's hit short film of the same name. According to Variety,it is the story of a female teen, a loner, who finds a vintage Polaroid camera that produces a tragic fate for anyone who has their picture taken.

The teen girl named Bird Fitcher and her friends must live one more night to solve the camera's mystery before it kills them.

The feature film stars Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch and Javier Botet. Producers are Roy Lee and Chris Bender, who produced The Ring horror series. Script writer is Blair Butler.

Madelaine Petschplays Cheryl Blossom in Riverdale, the new TV show that is an unusual spinoff of the Archie Comics.

Lee helped also developed The Grudge film series.According to Dani Levy of Variety, "At the American Film Market in November 2016, Lee hinted he believes Polaroid has the makings of a franchise starter.

Polaroid is set for release in late August.
