Classic Horror Movie Remake Underway in Pasadena? – Pasadena Now

Movieweb is reporting that filming for the latest sequel to the 1978 horror film Halloween is underway in Pasadena, in the same neighborhood that was transformed into the fictional Haddonfield in the John Carpenter original.

The report quotes Bloody Disgustings John Squires as saying he had been shown pictures of the Pasadena neighborhood showing crews shooting the new film by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, due for release in October, 2018.

The photos were taken by John Carpenter fan Steve Piacenza over the weekend and sent to Squires, the report said.

The fan said he had been watching the area for several nights and saw that crews emptied the two original homes that were used in Carpenters 1978 movie, and then put furniture back into the homes to make them look like the houses in the earlier film.

Piacenza said that he talked to a few people from the crew who were able to confirm that its definitely Halloween.

The news comes after Blumhouse Productions showed the first images of the upcoming films poster that echoes the original but sports minor changes.

Although Green and McBride will be overseeing the 2018 film, Carpenter will be back as a producer and once again score the film with a haunting array of piano medleys. The 1978 movie was just as famous for its music and having Carpenter back is one hell of a coup, says MoviePilot.com.

An update on Bloody Disgusting Monday said the photos sent by fan Piacenza could actually be from the production start of FXs hit horror series American Horror Story Season 8, but then the fact that the show heads to main character Michael Myers home town makes fans more curious than ever.

McBride has earlier said he wanted to take Myers back to reality to get people scared about events that can actually happen.
