Tokyo:The circumstances caused by the novel coronavirus could remind anyone of a horror movie. The type of film which has a story revolving around a pandemic plaguing the world.

With the number of active cases surging up every day, it looks like all of us living through a movie right now. In lieu of this, governments around the world had to take strict measures to try and control the contagious infection. Lockdowns were imposed and people were asked to stay at home for an indefinite period of time.

Slowly and steadily, everyone is gearing up to step into the new normal and embrace it. It includes the practice of social distancing and wearing a mask. Public places are starting to take necessary precautions to make sure the virus does not hamper their functioning.

However, despite the precautions, for many, the COVID-19 scare still looms over their head. Many of them still do not want to step out of their houses and maintain as much distance as possible.

Many places around the world are coming up with various ways to keep the public entertained with the basic safety in mind. They are quite innovative and are becoming very popular. Thanks to the internet a lot of such activities are being loved and shared by the netizens.

One such activity is coming from Japan. A group is starting a set of drive-in horror shows to entertain the audience, who themselves are scared of the virus and are ok with facing the various ghosts and monsters.

The performance group is named Kowagarasetai which translates into scare squad from Japanese. It all takes place in a garage where a car enters one at a time. Then, a murder story is narrated with the necessary sound effects which include banging on the side of the vehicle by performers dressed up as monsters. Fake blood is also sprayed on the vehicle.

Each show costs around 9000 yen (around 6251 in Indian rupees).

Earlier, the group was regulars at theme parks with their pop up shows. Unfortunately, the pandemic acted as a roadblock to their business which is why they shifted to the idea of drive-in shows.

Coordinator Kenta Iawana told Reuters, The drive-in will let people experience our haunted house shows. We might even continue it after coronavirus ends. They also hope to frighten 11 carloads people a day on the weekend.
