Nope Is Set to Be the Blockbuster Horror Movie of the Summer – Vogue

After his critically lauded social thrillers Get Out and Us, Jordan Peele looks poised to establish himself as the modern master of horror with his latest film, a sci-fi mind-bender starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer. Ahead of its release, heres everything you need to know.

It follows two ranch-owning siblings who attempt to capture video evidence of a UFO which they believe may have been responsible for the death of their father.

Nope arrives in theaters on July 22.

Daniel Kaluuya and Jordan Peele reunite for the first time since Get Out

Jordan Peeles genre-defining Get Out earned the auteur an Oscar for best original screenplay in 2018 as well as nominations for best director and best picture. It also saw Daniel Kaluuya, then best known for his supporting roles in Skins and Sicario, secure a best actor nod and become one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. Since then, the 33-year-old Londoner has dazzled critics and audiences alike in everything from Black Panther and Widows to Queen & Slim and Judas and the Black Messiah, winning a best supporting actor Oscar for the latter in 2021. Meanwhile, Peele followed up with the thrilling, endlessly dissected Us, and produced both BlacKkKlansman and Candyman.

Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, and Barbie Ferreira round out the stellar cast

The 28-year-old Illinois native Keke Palmerwho broke out aged 12 with Akeelah and the Bee and has recently delivered unforgettable performances in Hustlers and Alicetakes on a leading role alongside Kaluuya. Joining her? Steven Yeun, the Oscar-nominated star of Burning and Minari; Euphorias Barbie Ferreira; industry veterans like Michael Wincott and Keith David; and newcomer Brandon Perea.
