There's no bigger horror movie player than Jamie Lee Curtis and her role as Laurie Strode in 1978'sHalloweenstarted her career. Fans of Scary Moviedon't know that Jamie Lee Curtis almost had a cameo.

This would have been really exciting, but it seems like there could have been many reasons why this cameo didn't end up happening.

This is a strange fact about the first movie in theScary Moviefranchise: while it was granted an R rating, which makes sense given the content, it got a 14A rating in British Columbia.

This meant that teenagers who were 14 could go to the movie theater and see it, which parents didn't love, and a lot of parents penned letters to theMotion Picture and Liquor Appeal Board.

The main character inScary Movieis named Cindy Campbell and, of course, is based on Neve Campbell's character Sidney Prescott in theScreamfranchise. But many fans who have enjoyed watching this parody movie didn't know that Alicia Silverstone was in the running for this role.

Anna Faris is perfect in the part of Cindy, bringing her trademark sense of humor and comedic timing, but it's still interesting to hear who else could have been the face of this movie.

Even though Anna Faris became super famous after playing Cindy inScary Movie, it turns out that she got nervous while filming. She wasn't sure that it was the right role for her. It was during one of the most memorable scenes of the movie that is pretty dirty that she started wondering about being in the movie. She thought that she didn't look good.

Keenan Ivory Wayans said "There's no vanity in comedy" and this was super helpful for Faris.

Before her tragic death in 2001, Aaliyah had made a name for herself in the music and film industry, releasing many popular songs and starring inQueen Of The Damned.

Aaliyah could have played Brenda inScary Moviebut she said no, and the role went to Regina Hall.

Anna Faris said that she would have left before starring inScary Movie 4, but there's a reason why she stayed and made another movie in the franchise: she was paid $1 million.

That definitely makes sense, as it would be tough to say no to that amount of money.

It's no surprise that Tori Spelling was cast inScary Movie 2since, thanks to her role onBeverly Hills, 90210, she was a teen icon. But it is surprising to hear thather say that she was supposed to be a main character in this sequel.

She says that she didn't want to do a topless scene soshe didn't end up being in all of the scenes that she had shot. Her part is now called a cameo because she was only in the movie briefly.

In 2002, it was announced that Kevin Smith was going to write the third movie in the franchise, but that didn't end up working outand his screenplay wasn't the one that was chosen.

The credited writers on the movie are Pat Proft and Craig Mazin.

There's something special about thetitleScary Movie. It's simple, easy to remember, and really does sum up what the movie is trying to achieve.

But as it turns out, the movie had another name and it's definitely super long:Last Summer I Screamed Because Friday the 13th Fell on Halloween. Sure, this is funny, but it sounds more like the name of a comedy special than a movie. It's easy to see why it was changed.

When Anna Faris was cast inScary Movie, it was such a big deal for her because she was brand new to acting. And when the crew said "action" she has said that she didn't actually know what to do. Jon Abrahams, who played Bobby, said, "Say your line."

Faris was cast withoutan agent or any headshots at that time, and it was clear from her performance that she was going to be a movie star.
