Woman Stabbed Father Because Of Horror Movie ‘The Mummy Returns’ – Oxygen (blog)

A 27-year-old woman is being charged for stabbing her father to death in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. According to People, Christina Nicassioalleges that she was inspired to commit the heinous act by the 2001 movieThe Mummy Returns.

Christina, a soccer coach, reportedly stabbed her 69-year-old father, Anthony, in the chest on Saturday following an argument. Her mother toldpolice that her daughter was experiencing a bad break-up and her parents were concerned about her. They apparently tried to get her into the car to take her to the hospital. That's when, per the arrest affidavit, Christina started acting wildly, took a four-inch knife and stabbed her father.

Christina was charged with first-degree murder and possession of criminal tools. She told police that she believed her father had to die" and that shegot played by Hollywood. She referenced a movie, saying, Someone who cant love someone else, they stab their father.When she was asked what movie she was referencing, Christina said theThe Mummy Returns.

The publication notes that it's unclear what part of the action/horror movie Christina was specifically inspired by. However, a character played by Rachel Weisz is stabbed in the stomach.

Christina has not entered a plea. She is slated to appear in court on May 17.
