This sequel takes place five years after the original and features the return of Jason Voorhees, its IMBD description states.

The film's primary location and home of Voorhees, Crystal Lake, is said to be in Cunningham County, New Jersey. However, the producers of the second film chose Camp Kenmont in Kent as the main filming location, according to IMBD's description.

Aside from Camp Kenmont, the film features several more Connecticut setpieces, including the exterior of Alice's house and her neighborhood (filmed in Waterbury,) the interior of Alice's house (filmed in Torrington) and downtown New Preston (filmed in New Preston,) according to the Friday the 13th franchise website.

The scenes filmed in New Preston featured the Lake Waramaug Casino, which burned down during the 1980s, according to the New York Times.
