All the guests coming to Joe Bobs Drive-In Jamboree in July – 1428 Elm

The Last Drive-In host Joe Bob Briggs has a lot of fans (AKA Drive-In Mutants), and those living in Tennessee are getting some extra love very soon. That love will take the shape of the second annualJoe Bobs Drive-In Jamboree, which is three days of films, guests, live music and the usual hijinks we expect from ShuddersThe Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs.

Joe Bobs Drive-In Jamboree begins atthe Malco Summer Drive-In in Memphis on July 8, and wraps up with a Film Festival on July 10. Here are the details that have been announced so far:

Friday, July 8 has been handed over to Darcy, and since she is well-known for her love of Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, thats the movie she has chosen. Joining our favorite Mail Girl will be the films director Tommy Lee Wallace, and its two stars, Tom Atkins and Stacey Nelkin. Joe Bob Briggs predicts he will be subjected to a four-against-one beatdown during his commentary, since he has repeatedly publicly scorned the movie.

Joe Bob Briggs himself announced the schedule and roster for Saturday, July 9, when ShuddersThe Last Drive-In format will be reproduced live onstage. Getting things off to a rousing start will be John Brennan and the Bigfeet, who will be playing a medley of songs by the Ramones.

Audience members will be invited to dance along as P.J. Soles (whototally played Lynda in the original Halloween) sings Rock n Roll High School, just as she did in the 1979 film of the same name, and thats the film attendees will see first.

After that will come a 20th anniversary screening of Bubba Ho-tep, which starred the legendary Bruce Campbell as the even-more-legendary Elvis Presley.

For Sunday, July 10, the final night of the Jamboree, Joe Bob and friends will be presenting the World Drive-In Movie Festival, consisting of two independent feature films and eight shorts. Jonah Ray (Mystery Science Theater 3000) will be providing the commentary for Hogzilla, which features Mr. Joe Bob Briggs himself (and during which, the audience will no doubt start chanting: Hog-ZILLA! Hog-ZILLA!).

The pre-show musical performance on Sunday will be provided by Denver metal band Ax Slasher, who are known to fans of The Last Drive-In due to the movie Deathgasm.

Also happening is a very special fan convention, held at the Hilton Memphis, and thats where fans can see many The Last Drive-In friends and family, including Kelli Maroney (Chopping Mall, Night of the Comet), Sybil Danning (Howling II, Grindhouse), Fred Williamson (Black Cobra, VFW), Bunny, Blade and Dannhausen of the AEW wrestling franchise, Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), Honey the Mail Girl (Joe Bobs Drive-In Theater) and Yuki Nakamura, who entertains us as part of the crew on The Last Drive-In.

Joe Bob and Darcy will be holding meet and greets throughout the weekend in an effort to interact with as many fans as possible. The two fully appreciate that this event would not be possible without their extremely devoted fan base.

Joe Bob is planning a group visit to the iconic Graceland on Sunday morning, promising more details later. For ticket and event info, check out the website to ensure that the drive-in will never die.

Tennessee fans, will you be visiting the Jamboree next month, and did you attend last year? If so, we want to hear your stories, drop them in the comments section.
