By Alberta Newspaper Group on July 4, 2020.

The COVID Cruise-in IG Wealth Management outdoor movie series brings multiple 1980s films to the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Grounds for people to view from the comfort of their cars this summer.

The first film, Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, plays tonight, Pulp Fiction on July 11, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark on July 18, Spaceballs on Aug. 8, The Secret of Nimh on Aug. 22, and Dirty Dancing will end of the films on Aug. 29.

All films will be viewed on a 50-foot screen.

We did a movie series last year, said Megan Nunweiler, marketing and events coordinator for IG Wealth Management.

This year is an extension of that. It is the COVID Cruise-in for this year. We just wanted a few nights in the summer where people can come and enjoy a movie outdoors and also practicing social distancing.

She felt the movies are important because it gives the community something to do this summer and to be outside.

Gate 3 opens at 8 p.m., she said. Were only allowed 150 cars for each night. They will be an assigned a spot to get a little chalk number on their windshield so we know how many cars we have in. We also have an online concession ordering so that they can make the order from their car.

Donations will be accepted for HALO on film nights.
