Disney+ teases MCU Phase 4 with ‘Loki,’ ‘WandaVision,’ more footage – Alternative Press

Marvel Studios and Disney were not playing around when it came to this years Super Bowl. The companies used their hyper-expensive air time to spotlight three of their new MCU series coming to Disney+. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,WandaVisionandLokiwere all teased.

The three shows are part of a Disney+ expansion that will see significant, albeit crucial ties to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As we all know, the MCU received a pretty big shakeup at the end of the highest-grossing film of all time, 2019s Avengers: End Game. In it we see Steve Rogers Captain America pass off the iconic shield and live his life in the past. This is exactly where The Falconand the Winter Soldier picks up.

Near the end ofAvengers: Endgame, Rogers hands-off Captain Americas shield to Sam Wilson, better known as Falcon. The series will follow Wilson and Bucky Winter Soldier Barnes as they navigate a world that Rogers is no longer a part of.

The brief teaser shows Wilson interacting with the adamantium shield. We then get a super brief look at Wilson in a new flight suit and the return of Baron Zemo. One Twitter user breaks it down into simple bullet points with pictures.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldierhits the small screen later this year in August.

WandaVisionis next in the list and gets a bit trippy. Slated for a 2020 release as well, the show follows Wanda Maximoff or Scarlet Witch and her lover Vision. While what we see of the show is incredibly quick, we can gather that the show is going to be pretty crazy. We see many different incarnations of Maximoff including one of her vintage 1960s Scarlet Witch costume and one asLeave It To Beaver-looking housewife.

We can all assume that reality hopping will be a major plot point in WandaVision, as well as the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Kevin Feige spoke that Maximoff would be teaming up with Dr. Stephen Strange in what is being called as the MCUs first scary movie. Maximoff actress Elizabeth Olsen talked about the level of weird we can expect at San Diego Comic-Con.

Were gonna get weird, get deep, and finally understand Wanda Maximoff as Scarlet Witch, Olsen said.

And last, but certainly not least we got a quick look at one sentence of Loki. The brief scene shows Tom Hiddlestons Loki sitting in a TVA jumpsuit. TVA stands for Time Variance Authority and is in charge of controlling the timelines in the Marvel Universe, trimming and pruning ones that are too dangerous to exist.

The clip shows Loki smirking while saying Im going to burn this place to the ground.

Check out the action-packed trailer below and get ready becauseThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision release this fall. Loki wont hit the small screen until 2021. Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight have also been announced.
