HBO January 2020 Schedule: Complete List of New HBO Movies And Shows – Decider

Whats your New Years Resolution? Ours is to keep up with all the new content HBO is dropping this January! And we bet youre going to want to do the same after you read this list. Sometimes we wonder how they keep churning out such great content each month. But, hey, were not complaining!

Our highlights for HBOs January slate include two exciting new original series: the space comedy Avenue 5, starring Hugh Laurie, and the Stephen King adapted series The Outsider. Our must watch movie this month is the third film in the John Wick franchise. Who wouldnt want more Keanu Reeves?

Other notable additions to the service include the 2012 Les Misrables adaptation, Leonardo DiCaprios Shutter Island, and dramedy Spanglish, with Adam Sandler. And dont miss out on the premieres of HBO shows like The New Pope, a continuation of the 2016 series The Young Pope, and the comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, now entering its tenth season.

I dont know about you, but Im very happy to watch Keanu Reeves kick ass in yet another installment of the John Wick series. In this third film, the hitman has landed himself in a rather messy situation. After killing a member of the High Table (aka the group that runs the international assassins guild), John is left with a high bounty on his own head. Will John, despite all his talents, be able to fight off the worlds best killers? Stream this action-thriller on HBO to find out.

Here comes yet another Stephen King adaptation! Based on Kings best-selling novel of the same name, The Outsider follows a seasoned cops (Ben Mendelsohn) investigation into the gruesome murder of an 11-year-old boy. While police officials think theyll have this case wrapped up in no time, things start to get dicey when evidence suggests that their main suspect (Jason Bateman) was somehow in two places at once. Our guess is this miniseries is going to take a sharp turn into the supernatural (as is Kings style). If its anything like other King adaptations, The Outsider is sure to be a hit with more than just his readership!

In this upcoming space comedy, Hugh Laurie stars as a Ryan Clark, the captain of a luxury space cruise liner. But space isnt the only thing this captain has to navigate. From angry passengers to corporate politics, Ryan is in for quite the ride, perhaps more than he signed on for.From the creator of Veep, Armando Iannucci, Avenue 5 is sure to be HBOs next big hit. With comedy stars like Josh Gad and Zach Woods, we doubt youll be able to stop laughing!
