Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Career From 1995 To 2020, In Photos – TheThings

Jennifer Love Hewitt has been a staple figure in Hollywood since her debut way back in the 90s. While the actress had taken on a number of roles through the 80s and early 90s, it wasn't until she appeared in countless rom coms and teen flicks that she'd make a name for herself.

Hewitt has easily gone on to be one of the most reputable stars of the 90s and early 2000s and appeared in classic films from 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', 'The Tuxedo', all the way to her current role on Fox's hit show '9-1-1'.

While she may have taken a break to focus on family life, Jennifer Love Hewitt came back to grace us all with her stunning on-screen presence. The actress has truly done it all from thrillers, comedies, chick flicks all the way to cult classics, and we've loved every bit of it. Here is a look back at Jennifer Love Hewitt's career from 1995 to 2020!

While Jennifer Love Hewitt's career may have only truly begun in the mid-90s, she made her acting debut alongside Fergie in the 1989 show 'Kid Incorporated'. If you're wondering who Jennifer is in the shot, she is the one sporting all blue ensembles with curly bangs! The actress was only 10 at the time and had no clue just how big of a deal she'd later become.

In addition to small roles here and there, Jennifer Love Hewitt also appeared in 'Sister Act 2', back in 1993. While she did not play the biggest role in the film, she was seen quite often throughout, most of the time fixing her makeup and hair. If you're a fan of the film, then you definitely remember seeing her.

The actress had a few roles under her belt by the year 1994, which landed her a bigger role on the television show 'McKenna'. Jennifer Love Hewitt played the role of Cassidy McKenna, and while she gave a solid performance the show only lasted one season, officially ending in July 1995.

After her long years of working hard to make it to the top, Jennifer Love Hewitt was finally seeing some success! The actress landed yet another major role as Brooke Figler in the 1996 film 'House Arrest'. The then 17-year-old was now officially knownin Hollywood, and it was only up from here.

The film 'Trojan War' may not have had anything to do with the Greek story, but it definitely skyrocketed Jennifer Love Hewitt's career to A-list status. The 1997 film, in which Jennifer played the role of Leah Jones, landed her as the official "girl next door", and instantly became one of the biggest stars of the 90s.

Considering Jennifer Love Hewitt was now the new "it" girl, it was only fitting for her to land major role after major role. This proved itself true when she landed a spot in one of the most iconic scary movies of the 90s 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'. The film became an instant hit and had seen a number of remakes throughout the last two decades.

If you grew up in the 90s, then you know just how significant pop culture was at the time. One of the biggest shows, that later came back a few years ago with a spin, was none other than 'Boy Meets World'. The 1998 television show was a massive hit amongst most demographics and can be enjoyed a second time around with their newest show 'Girl Meets World', although you won't find Jennifer Love Hewitt in it this time around.

1998 was a major year for the actress! She starred in a number of films and television shows, making it clear that she was not going anywhere anytime soon. Jennifer Love Hewitt went on to star in 'Can't Hardly Wait', alongside Ethan Embry, with whom she shared an on-screen kiss with, and described it as "very awkward". Ouch!

As mentioned, 1998 was a massively successful year for Jennifer Love Hewitt! The star reprised her role in the second edition of the scary movie 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', however, it appears the murderer "still" remembers what they did. The film went on to do just as well as the first and has continued to remain a pop culture classic.

While we have seen Jennifer Lover Hewitt play in scary films, dramas and teen flicks, we had not seen her in too many comedies, that is until now. The actress starred in the 1999 film "The Suburbans", alongside comedic legend Will Ferrel! The star also showcased a different side to her as well, wearing more risqu ensembles for its time.

One film that we have always loved of Jennifer Love Hewitt's was none other than 'The Tuxedo'. The 2002 flick was a smash hit and starred both Hewitt and martial arts icon, Jackie Chan. The two made quite the dynamic duo and really performed well in the film, which explains its success.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was now shifting from the "girl next door" to a serious actress landing major roles. While we'd only ever seen Garfield in cartoon or comic form, the actress appeared in the real-life version. The 2004 flick did extremely well, and while Jennifer may have shifted away from her previous roles, she definitely took on the "Americas sweetheart" persona really well in this film.

Despite the actress appearing in more blockbuster films, it was refreshing to see Jennifer Love Hewitt take on a role in a cult classic genre film. Hewitt appeared in the 2005 film 'Confessions Of A Sociopathic Social Climber', where she showcased a side of her that we hadn't seen from her yet.

Jennifer Love Hewitt remains at the top of the Hollywood hierarchy as she landed the role in the 2005 film 'The Truth About Love'. We see Hewitt's character, Alice, go on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the film, showcases the stars acting abilities. Jennifer Love Hewitt had now shifted her focus from acting to family life. The star had definitely been enjoying her honeymoon years with hubby Brian and had even given birth to their first daughter, Autumn. While she was busy being a mom, that didn't mean we'd stop seeing her altogether. The actress made a number of appearances on the hit show 'Hot In Cleveland', and reminded us all why we loved her in the first place.

After having her first child and adjusting to motherhood, Jennifer Love Hewitt felt it was time to return to television. In 2015, the actress joined the cast of 'Criminal Minds' and did so while pregnant with her second child, Atticus. While she no longer acts on the show, it was great to see her return to what she was always great at.

After the birth of her second child, Jennifer Love Hewitt took another break from acting to raise her kids. Flash forward three years and the star is back at it again! Hewitt now appears in the show '9-1-1', which is currently in its third season. We are beyond happy to see the actress back on our screens, and hope it's permanent!
