Lindsay Lohan Takes Scary Gun Photos: Why This Was a Mistake

Controversy is nothing new for Lindsay Lohan, and her latest photo shoot is likely to land her in some hot water. The troubled actress teamed with photographer Terry Richardson for a round of photos that portrayed her with a gun. In the disturbing pictures, a distraught-looking LiLo can be seen sticking the gun in her mouth, against her head, and under the chin. After posting the photos on his Tumblr page, the photographer promptly took them down but the damage was already done. Given the fact that Lindsay is attempting another comeback, the timing of this photo shoot is more than a little concerning. Here are a few reasons why she made a poor decision in posing for these pictures.

It makes light of her issues

Just a couple of weeks ago, Lindsay was rushed to the hospital after crashing her car into an 18-wheel truck in Los Angeles. A week after that, the actress was sent to the hospital again after she was found unconscious in her hotel room. "Lindsay has been working a grueling schedule for the last couple of days," said her rep as he cited exhaustion for the hospitalization reason. Lindsay might have been fine in both cases, but it's obvious that she is demonstrating some risky behavior. By posing with a gun in her mouth, she isn't coming across as someone that takes her issues seriously.

It sends a dangerous message

Despite her many problems over the years, Lindsay is still a role model to her fans. It's both disturbing and irresponsible for her to pose for pictures like these. Instead of inspiring her fans by proving that people can overcome life obstacles, she is suggesting that suicide might be a way to cope with things. Seeing that she has made many statements about how much progress she has made over the last couple of years, Lindsay should know better than do something like this.

It can only hurt her image

She might have a starring role in the TV movie "Liz & Dick," but LiLo is still a long way from restoring her former box office glory. A stunt like this is only going to hinder those chances further. Every time Lindsay does something that makes the general public shake their heads, she is hurting her appeal. This might have done more damage to her comeback than anything else she has done to date.
