Netflixs Fear Street Trilogy Brings Three R-Rated Horror Movies This Summer Watch The Trailer – Empire

Generally, movie trilogies are made and released over the course of several years a film becomes a hit, a sequel or two is greenlit, and eventually you have a franchise on your hands. But with its adaptation of R.L. Stines Fear Street novels, Netflix has cooked up a different kind of trilogy the streaming service has shot all three Fear Street movies already, and its releasing them weekly through July in a major horror event. Unlike the family-friendly Goosebumps movies, these will be R-rated, and theyre each set in the city of Shadyside at different points in time. The first film takes place in 1994, the second in 1978, and the final instalment goes way back to 1666. Check out the trailer here:

As a first teaser, this doesnt give much away but the prospect of a brand new horror trilogy spanning over 300 years, homaging different eras of scary movies, all arriving in the space of three Fridays sounds like a total blast. All three films are directed by Leigh Janiak previously behind Honeymoon, and episodes of the Scream TV series and Outcast and the combined cast includes Gillian Jacobs, and Stranger Things stars Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke, the latter of whom gets her own scene in the above teaser.

Heres hoping the films live up to the ambitious production and release well find out when they drop on the 2nd, 9th, and 16th of July respectively.
