New on Netflix May 2020: "Riverdale" Season 4, "The Half of It," and More – Yahoo Lifestyle

Curious to know what's new on Netflix in May 2020? The streaming giant has released a title-packed roster of everything new coming to Netflix (along with everything leaving Netflix in May), including a formidable slate of original movies, TV shows, comedy specials, reality shows, and the latest seasons of your favorite TV series.

When it comes to Netflix original movies and shows, there will be no shortage of things to choose from. Arriving on Friday, May 1, is the new original movie The Half of It, which tells the story of shy, artistic teenager Ellie Chu trying help her classmate, Paul Munsky, woo his crush. There's just one big catch: Ellie also has a crush on Paul's crush, Aster Flores.

If you're in the mood for some soapy melodrama, you might want to check out the new Ryan Murphy series Hollywood, which transports viewers back into 1940s Los Angeles and follows a group of dreamers as they try to make it big. Or, you just might be in need of an action-packed rom-com if so, set an alert for the May 22 release of The Lovebirds, starring Insecure's Issa Rae and comedic actor Kumail Nanjiani as sweethearts who are mistaken for murderers and have to go on the run.

Netflix is also adding a ton of beloved movies and TV shows in May, too. Season 2 of the Charmed reboot and Grey's Anatomy Season 16 arrive on May 9; Season 4 of Riverdale is coming on May 14; and The Flash Season 6 drops May 20. New movies include the Amanda Bynes comedy What a Girl Wants, the Jennifer Lawrence thriller House at the End of the Street, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and the first two Back to the Future movies.
