Catching up with The Walking Deads Chandler Riggs in Michigan this weekend – MLive.com

NOVI, MI - His death shocked many fans on The Walking Dead. Now, 22, we caught up with actor Chandler Riggs who is in town this weekend meeting with fans at Motor City Comic Con taking place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi through Sunday, May 15.

Riggs played Carl Grimes on the AMC horror-drama television series from 2010 to 2018. Even though he has all of that acting experience, he says hes always willing to learn more and perfect his craft.

Ive been doing classes for a few years, Riggs told MLive. Im always trying to improve and find better ways that I can do things.

Riggs says he is in between acting gigs right now, but enjoys broadcasting live on Twitch to raise money for charity. Riggs has nearly 300,000 followers on Twitch. His handle is Chairhandler.

Im doing tons of auditions. In the meantime, Im kind of in between things. Im doing a lot of charity work. I do live streams on Twitch and everything that I make on there goes to a different charity. Its a lot of fun.

Riggs says he does have a really cool prop from his years on The Walking Dead.

I have one of the hats. One of the hats that Andy wore in season one I still have.

Riggs was referring to Andy, or, actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the show, Carls father.

Riggs is among more than two dozen celebrities at Motor City Comic Con through Sunday. The event also features artists and vendors, celebrity panels, cosplay contests, gaming and more.
