The new 'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 6 trailer looks promising, but the past two seasons have ... [+] ruined the show.

Theres a new trailer for Fear The Walking Dead. It presents a sixth season that looks quite a lot darker and more zombie-filled than Season 5. I mean, if Im being entirely honest the trailer is surprisingly good.

But as George W. Bush famously said:

He stole that line from The Who, right?

The thing is, I just havent any faith left in me. No faith in Scott Gimple. No faith in the bumbling showrunners, Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg. No faith in Morgan who, come on, hes not dead. We all wish he was dead (or, better yet, that he never joined this show to begin with).

This new trailer tries to fool audiences into thinking hes become a zombie with that red eye. But I dont think so. Its possible hes infected the same way Gabriel was infected. It could also just be blood. Either way, my moneys on Morgan surviving so that he can once again completely ruin everything good and true about Fear The Walking Dead (along with Chambliss, Goldberg and Gimple, of course).

In any case lets watch the trailer before we carry on.

"Theres going to be a great deal more focus within the stories, a little less vignette-y in telling 16 little movies," Gimple toldEW, describing the different approach to Season 6. "The guys are out of the gate wonderfully with the first two episodes, and it is a differentiating thing. Its something that separates that show from the other two shows, telling these 16 little movies, being a bit more anthological. It still is a serialized story, but its told through these very focused perspectives."

Hey why not? Why not just keep changing this show every year? I mean, its already unrecognizable from where it started. By Season 5 theyd killed off everything interesting about Alicia and Daniel just as surely as they killed off Nick and Madison in Season 4. This isnt even the same show anymore so why not turn it into 16 little movies?

Admittedly, the trailer is pretty good other than Morgans irritating voice over the whole thing. To think, I used to consider Morgan one of my favorite characters. Theyve ruined him just as surely as they ruined Fears original cast, though The Walking Dead had already begun that process by absolutely butchering his insanity.

You know what it is.

Actually, for a short time on Fears fourth season things were looking quite good. Morgan was immediately more palatable. I remember enjoying John Dories character a lot (a character that has been subsequently squandered in the most ghastly ways, like that utterly ridiculous wedding last season and the characters subsequent subservience to the cowboy people. I shudder just thinking about it all).

So Ive worked myself up a bit here. I want to like this trailer and be excited about it but honestly I just feel bad for all the actors on this show and hope that things improve for their sake. Alycia Debnam-Carey, Garrett Dillahunt, Colman Domingo, Ruben Bladesthese are all top-notch actors who deserve a better show, or at least deserve better writing and direction on this one.

Ill cross my fingers, knock on wood, do a rain dance and all that jazz. But I wont hold my breath.

Fear The Walking Dead supposedly returns this summer. With the world in its current dire straits, I wont count on anything.
