How Jane the Virgin Pulled Off the Exact Move The Walking Dead Botched – Vanity Fair

At the Season One premiere (April, 2012)

Since the cast was relatively unknown before embarking on Girls, its early off-camera and red-carpet fashion reflected their lives as near-normal young women in their mid-20s. While Dunham and Williams both attended the Met Gala shortly after the show began (both in designer gowns), their fashion choices were still relatively simple, with little to no risk-taking.

While each woman became more comfortable with her own style, all of the personal style transformations had the same thread woven among them. They all appeared decidedly more adult. Of course, they had been adults since the beginning of the show, but their choices both on and off the red carpet seemed more pointed, structured, and confident.
