However, underrated aspects of the show are the emotional and wholesome moments, which are scenes that dont involve any death or violence. Instead, these moments carry heartwarming sentiment or times of laughter. These are perfect to illustrate how the show does have enough variety to balance the brutality otherwise showcased, and fans were pleasantly surprised to see these 10 wholesome moments.

This scene was meant to indicate the striking difference from what once was to where things had ended. While the heroes were trapped by the Terminus villains, this flashback occurred and showed the survivors during happier times. Here, Beth, Hershel, Carl, Rick, and baby Judith were seen sharing a heartwarming moment.

Unlike his usual stoic self, Rick had a happy smile on him as he jokingly took away Carls hat and gave it to Beth as thanks for taking care of Judith. In response, Hershel claimed they could always have happy moments such as this one, something Rick was glad to concur on.

A man of few words, its not every day fans get to see Daryl be so honest with his feelings, making this a treasured moment for sure. In this scene, he and Carol reunited after shed been gone at sea for months, culminating ina big hug.

Afterward, the two were shown hanging out in the forest, where Daryl openly called her out to be his best friend. Living up to that title, Carol then teased Daryl over his supposed attraction to Connie, almost making the viewer forget that this was supposed to be a zombie apocalypse as the two had the enthusiasm of high school pals.

The bromance of Rick and Daryl has been sorely missed on The Walking Dead, although fans will always have this to remember them by. In this episode, the two went off on a trip together, where Rick teased Daryl by putting on a music CD the latter didnt enjoy.

A little while later, Rick and Daryl turned things into something of a fun road trip as they kicked back and relaxed while sharing some chocolate. It really makes one appreciate how the two found brotherhood in a time such as the one they were in.

Who would have thought the next time they would see Negan, after he'd begged to be killed,he would look so happy? This is what happened, though, as Negan was shown talking to Judith from his cell, sporting a big smile that signified a close connection.

Rather than talk about any heavy topic, the two were seen discussing Judiths homework, as Negan helped her solve her problem. It was touching to see a man who had once wanted to die find a new lease in life by fostering such a simple connection with a little girl.

This moment was more fleeting than others, yet its hard not to smile at the wholesome effect it has. After Rick and Daryl caught Jesus messing with their stuff, they decided to take him with them. Here, Rick felt a little playful and steered the car in such a direction that the knocked out Jesus head drooped on Daryls shoulder.

Seeing how this annoyed Daryl, he playfully steered the car again to make light of the moment. It was like watching teenage boys mess around with each other, and it became clear that Jesus would become a trusted friend soon enough.

Its a shame the series didnt show much of Rick and Shanes interactions from before the apocalypse, as it was clear from Ricks hallucination in Season 9 that they had been very close. Here, Rick saw a vision of himself reunited with Shane in their police car.

Forgetting all their hostility, the two had a chat that only two buddies could, calling themselves names and enjoying fries and burgers. It was the first time in a long time that Rick had been seen with such a big smile on his face, and the return of the friendly version of Shane made this a heartwarming interaction.

It was the beginning of Michonne becoming the motherly figure she eventually would, as she and Carl made the best of a bad situation. Having been torn apart from the rest of the group, Rick, Carl, and Michonne were all by themselves.

Rather than take on a depressive state, Michonne and Carl found happiness together as they played a game on the train tracks by seeing who could balance better than the other. They were out in the middle of nowhere, but still found solace knowing they had each other as the three brightened up what should have been a bad day.

Things were at their worst for residents of Alexandria in Season 8, as the war with the Saviors was in full flow. However, youd think it really wasnt bad at all based on Michonnes interaction with Judith. It was this moment that convinced fans she truly had become the little girls mother.

Before leaving to fight, Michonne took time to bid Judith goodbye, where she dropped her usually hard-hitting nature in favor of a tender demeanor filled with love. It was also a nice change of pace to see a child play with toys in such difficult times, reminding viewers what the heroes were fighting to defend.

After so much bloodshed in the Saviors arc, the show ended its eighth season with a completely opposite scene. Here, Rick was shown remembering Carl as a little boy as he read the latters farewell letter one last time.

There was nothing in this scene other than a father and a son enjoying a happy day, as the younger Rick took Carl in his arms by a farm. The music injects real emotion too, with the scene simply existing as a treasured moment in time for Rick to always remember.

There couldnt have been two characters more different to one another than Daryl and Beth, and yet they turned out to be a fan-favorite pairing. It was in the little things that one appreciates their interactions, mainly this one where they had a quiet understanding.

After he walked in on her playing the piano, Daryl let his tough exterior down and admitted he liked her gentle rendition of the song, asking her to sing to him. Happy to oblige, Beth continued her performance as a captivated Daryl looked on. It was a touching moment that signified that people from such different backgrounds could still enjoy each others company.
