The Walking Dead has characters that run the gamut from the best and worst people left in the world, but how would they be as romantic partners?

Valentines Day is just around the corner, and for most that might mean curling up in bed with chocolates and rom-coms, but thats not everyones style. Horror fans looking for a more exciting Valentines binge might want to settle in for a marathon of AMCs The Walking Dead.

Currently one of the most watched cable network television shows, the dystopian drama follows survivors of all kinds as they struggle to make their way in a new world full of flesh-eating zombies. The series hosts a large ensemble cast with all of their own personality traits, but some of them would make better romantic partners than others.

Rick has had his ups and downs over the years, but he is a good man. Loyal, brave, and selfless, Rick will fight to the death when it comes to protecting his loved ones. His biggest flaw in his past marriage seemed to be getting too caught up in his work and not spending enough quality time with his family.

Since then, Rick has made a genuine effort to be a better father and a better partner, spending plenty of quality time with Judith and Michonne, and even picking up thoughtful gifts for them when he has the chance.

Carol is a skilled survivor and a nurturing mother, but she prefers to be alone. Riddled with scars of her past, Carol likes living within the walls that she's built, rather than breaking them down with intimacy.Though she had a long-term relationship with Ezekiel, even after years of raising a child together, she was still hesitant to marry him when he asked her in season 9.

Shortly after Henry's death, she left him completely, content to go back to her living on her own and rekindling her platonic (so-far) bond with Daryl. Who knows if she'll ever be truly ready to commit?

Glenn may very well be the ultimate boyfriend of The Walking Dead. Kindhearted, principled, and downright adorable, Glenn is the type of guy that is not only romantic and fun to have a conversation with, but he will protect the ones he loves with his life.

The former pizza delivery guy more than proves himself every episode, whether he is coming up with clever plans, or serving as the group's moral compass. Even as he is bloodied and dying, his final thoughts are on Maggie as he lets the love of his life know that he will always find her.

Negan wasn't always the barbed wire bat-swinging baddie, but that doesn't mean he was a good partner. Negan used to be a middle school gym teacher that poked fun at his students for losing at sports, and that really says a lot about the kind of man that he was.

Consistently selfish, he repeatedly cheated on his wife, Lucille, only ending the affair when he found out that she was dying of cancer. Though he tried to be a better husband, it was too late. Her death changed him, and he turned cruel, cold, and fond of casually sharing his bed with avarietyof dubiously consenting women to forget his past failures as a husband.

Connie is strong, intelligent, beautiful, and she knows her way around a slingshot. It might seem that being deaf would be a serious disadvantage, but she doesn't let anything stand in her way, relying heavily on her other senses to help her fight just as fiercely as anyone else.

Not only a capable survivor, Connie ispatient and makes friends easily, willing to take others - such as Daryl - into her found family. Not much is known about her past, but she has proven herself to be a valuable member of the group. She is definitely girlfriend material.

Merle Dixon switched sides before his tragic death, but all of his flaws didn't just go away. Sexist, racist, and just plain rude, Merle preferred to give people derogatory nicknames instead of showing them the respect of calling them by their actual name. Not exactly great qualities for a boyfriend.

Daryl has said little about their past,but what he has shared does not bode well for Merle's quality of character either. The elder Dixon was involved with substance abuse and criminal behavior, not to mention just being a mean older brother.

Everyone has their baggage, and some people have more than others. A woman that lost her partner and her son in the outbreak, it took a long time for Michonne to open up, but even in her suffering she was selfless and brave. She has consistently shown herself to be kind, warm, and with so much love to give.

An excellent leader, partner, and mother, Michonne has learned when it's time to talk and listen, and when she needs to lean on others to take care of her. That said, she has absolutely no problem whipping out her sword and taking action to protect her group when talk isn't going to cut it.

Looks can be deceiving, and they definitely were when it came to Shane Walsh. The ex-deputy seemed like a good boyfriend and father figure before Rick returned, but he showed his true colors the moment he that he didn't get his way.

Heartbroken, Shane changed from a firm leader and loving partner to volatile, violent, and bitter, uncaring if his actions put the group in danger. His worst moment came when he got drunk and attacked Lori. Though he stopped and was horrified with himself, any remaining trust was utterly destroyed.

Daryl is not much of a talker, but when he truly cares about somebody, he doesn't need to talk for it to show. It shines off of him in the way he looks at people, cares for them, and protects them with every breath in his body. Once closed off and aloof, he has grown in so many significant ways, slowly opening up, and knowing when it's time to give a hug or a pep talk - usually to Judith.

He may not be the most social guy, but he is kind and thoughtful, going out of his way to learn sign language on his own so that he could communicate with Connie in a way that was most comfortable for her, instead of expecting others to meet him at his level.

Rosita starts out as a bit abrasive and rough around the edges. She is by no means a bad person. She's an incredibly strong woman, and a quick learner, with countless survival skills in her arsenal.

Much like Carol, she just has her walls built high, and despite her best intentions, those get in the way of steady relationships. Unsure of what she really wants, in the comics, she "marries" Eugene, but then cheats on him and gets pregnant with another man's baby - a storyline that was not included in full in the television series.
