‘The Walking Dead’ dominates social media – The Boston Globe – The Boston Globe

Nielsen tracks Social Content ratings, to let us know which TV shows are getting the most buzz. According to the audience measurement company, this past TV season inspired a total of some 2.9 billion social interactions about TV shows on Facebook and Twitter. Some of those interactions are fan conversations, others involve fans interacting with a shows talent as an episode airs.

None of them involves a water cooler.

Which shows are at the top? For the fourth year in a row, AMCS The Walking Dead wins, with 2,028,000 interactions per episode. Foxs Empire is next, with 860,000 per episode. Not surprisingly, ABCs The Bachelor, the show that is too much fun to make fun of, is No. 3 with 453,000 per episode. Fans of NBCs This Is Us leaned on one another for emotional support with 436,000 posts per episode.

The rest of the Top 10, in order: VH1s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, NBCs The Voice, USAs WWE Monday Night RAW, NBCs Saturday Night Live, VH1s Love & Hip Hop, and FXs American Horror Story.
